Mend Pet

Tomorrow starts the Unemployed meetup in Las Vegas!  So I take off from Ottawa tomorrow morning at 7AM, and return Monday night.  Should be a really fun time, although I doubt we’ll be able to get to do nearly as much of the stuff we’d like to over just 2 days.

I’ll return to Mend Pet on Tuesday, hopefully with lots of pictures to show and stories to tell!

It’ll be my first time on a plane, and my first time in the US… Exchanged some of my money the other day, it was strange to have American money.  I’ve never really had any, just seen it up close a couple of times.  I giggled when they gave me some $1 bills.  Bills!  For just 1 dollar!  How silly!

Thanks to the folks on Twitter who gave me some good suggestions on where to go and what to see!

A large part of my new job involves programming for WordPress, doing plugins and working on themes and such. So I saw it as a productive work day when I spent yesterday researching and downloading new plugins for Mend Pet.

I’d added CommentLuv, Sociable, Top Commentators (Go Rilgon!) a couple Twitter plugins, and one to forward all my feeds to Feedburner.

Oh, I switched to Feedburner. You can find the new feed here, but thanks to my plugin, your old feeds should be automatically redirected!

And I finally jumped on the Twitter train (the new plugins should have been an intimation), you can follow me at http://twitter.com/brajana.

I’m also going to start working on a new theme, because 1 sidebar just isn’t cutting it for me.

Well, almost.

I was planning to start posting daily again starting today, but so much is going on right now that I’ve decided it would probably be better to spend this week coming up with some reader-worthy posts and getting quality stuff out starting next Monday.

But in the mean time, I’ll post a few little screenshots or thoughts I’ve had just to keep this place looking busy.

Hope everyone had some great holidays! My break was excellent other than the heavy coating of stress that encased it.

Started a new job today – found a co-worker who plays World of Warcraft! I’ve got someone to chat to at lunch hour now!

It’s that time of year, and due to visiting family and all that stuff, I probably won’t be playing much for the next couple weeks, until after New Year’s.  I’ve got a couple posts I’ve been working on that I’ll try to get up in the meantime… but regular daily posts will probably not return until 2009!

Before the break, I just want to give some thanks to everyone who makes this little blog possible.

Thanks to all the readers of Mend Pet… I appreciate the time you take to read what I’ve written! When I started this blog a few months ago, I figured I’d be the only one reading (which would still have been okay), it’s nice to know I can ocassionally offer some help to others though!

To my regular commenters – you’ve been just as much help to me as any other blog I read!  Advice and tips are always appreciated.

A great big thanks to my guild, Unemployed.  They make the game what it is for me, and without them I’d probably have lost interest long ago!  Special thanks to Pilsner and Guinesa for somehow managing to keep things running smoothly, and being great friends through tough times.  To Tigerfeet for getting me into blogging in the first place, and always being an asset to both Shoutbox and any party that needs a tank!  To Tharaks for always making sure I’m hungry with his food talk and blog, and also to Boostah, for being someone I can go to for hunter advice, no matter how silly the question is.

Thanks to the other bloggers of the World of Warcraft community – there can never be too many!  Active discussion of theorycrafting and roleplaying and gameplay in general are wonderful things to have, and you’ve made me both a better player and a better blogger!  If you haven’t already, please check out my list of other people’s blogs to see some of the great things I get to read every day.

I’ve decided to splurge for Christmas and buy myself a domain for the blog!

I’ve set the old address, and all the old links to redirect to the new address, so those should all still work, but the new posts will all only appear on the new domain.

I’m using the same theme as before for now, however it’s a much older version of it, so I’ve got some fixin’ up to do.  Soon enough I’ll start using a shiny new theme, but that’ll come later!

Make sure you update your links and bookmarks to the new Mend Pet and your RSS feed to the new RSS Feed!
