I'm glad it seems to have worked out. =) Too bad about the 100$ (and transfer costs), but meh... I guess it can be worth it to keep your characters and still have your own account.

Look at it from the bright side, now you can try some dualboxing with the RAF bonus. It's really fun =) Me and my fiancee has 3 accounts and dualboxed a bit with 4 shamans (borrowed a friends account that was RAF:ed to us). And since our third account was RAF:ed to me as well, we all had the bonus =)

As I've been looking into it more, it seems that this is in fact true and it's the route I'm going to take. I've merged both accounts to one Battle Net account, and while technically I could just continue playing on the one I've been playing all along... I'd feel more secure transferring my characters to my new account that I bought myself and I know is mine.

Thanks to both of you and google and Twitter for helping me get through this stressing and confusing ordeal! I'll keep everyone updated on how it works out in the end.

Nordhbane speaks the truth. When I set up WoW initally, my account was in my name and hubby had his own account. After I started raiding on my priest I kind of abandoned my hunter and hubby had been offering to take said hunter off of my hands to level her but since we had different names on the accounts, the transfer was a no go. But I just registered for Battle.net, merged both accounts to mine, and the names and all of the info are the same on both so you can transfer between accounts.

And I would think that you would be able to call customer service, since ALL the info gets changed to whatever you have battle.net registered as.

Hope it helps!

Battle.net is actually your saviour. If you create a Battle.net account under your normal name, and then merge your account into that, the WoW account will get your Battle.net account details automagically.

This has been reported the case in the US at least where some have used it to change the last name of the account to be able to transfer characters between two accounts.
