WoW Word of the Week: quash

March 8th, 2009

\kwosh\, verb

1. to put down or suppress completely; quell; subdue: to quash a rebellion.
2. to make void, annul, or set aside (a law, indictment, decision, etc.)

Example: When our new raid member announced he’d never seen the Heigan fight before, he quashed our last bit of hope for getting [The Undying] that night.

wwotwWoW Word of the Week is my weekly Sunday post to encourage the expansion of the average WoW player’s vocabulary beyond “noob”, “pwnd” and “FAIL”.  The WWOTW will be used in every other post this week, and I urge you to use it as well!
